An area of Switchyard Park that will be known as “The Platform” will be home to a unique work of art, with a budget of $40,000 from the public art fund.

The Bloomington Arts Commission is seeking an artist or team for the project, which seeks to attach or install a durable, site-specific piece to the exterior of the planned Splash Pad building. The deadline to submit qualifications for consideration is 5 p.m. Dec. 21.

Artists will be considered based on artistic excellence; conceptual and material approach; adherence to guidelines; and openness to working collaboratively with project team members and city staff. To be considered, artists must submit a letter of interest, concept, resume, image list and references. The full request for qualifications can be accessed at bloomington.in.gov/arts.
