Applications are now open for Henry County Business Resiliency Fund grants from New Castle Main Street.

Main Street Executive Director Carrie Barrett announce the fund has raised $55,000.

“I think we’ll be able to help about 30 businesses,” Barrett said. “I’m going to continue to fundraise so hopefully we can help more folks!”

The new grants are available to all Henry County small businesses that have 30 or fewer employees.

Grant applications are available online at newcastledowntown.com. Donations are also still being accepted through the website.

Barrett explained a committee will begin reviewing the applications Tuesday.

“We believe that we’ll be able to get through 10-15 applications a week. So businesses may have to bear with us as we go through that process,” Barrett said. “If we are overwhelmed with applications, I will keep track of when they came in and we will go through them on a first-come, first-serve basis.”

Each business who receives a grant through the program will need to keep receipts and/or invoices for a 60 day follow-up to show the money was spent on COVID-19 related issues.
