State and local health officials concurred Wednesday, releasing information that Clay County has 11 COVID-19 cases.

Clay County Health Nurse Kim Hyatt said the state has “caught up with the local information.”

Of the 11 confirmed COVID-19 cases, Hyatt said nine are self quarantined at home, with two patients hospitalized. No additional information is available due to the federal law - Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The arrival of COVID 19 in Clay County was announced with the first confirmed case on March 28, with cases increasing to five on April 4, eight on April 6, nine of April 7., and two more Tuesday and Wednesday.
