EVANSVILLE — Atlas World Group of Evansville this week announced the largest acquisition in its history,

The company is Champion International Moving Ltd., based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1991, Champion is a forwarder of household goods that serves corporate customers, relocation management companies, federal government agencies and a few international customers.

Champion will be Atlas World Group’s ninth subsidiary. The Champion International Moving brand will maintain its name and leadership team, and it will operate separately from Atlas World Group International.

“This strategic acquisition greatly enhances our international service offering, and we are excited to welcome Champion to the Atlas World Group family of companies,” Jack Griffin, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group, said in a news release. “Together, we will capitalize on synergies and continue to expand our footprint in international household goods relocation.”

The acquisition of Champion follows Atlas World Group’s recent announcement that its Evansville headquarters will be expanded and 75 new jobs will be added in Indiana by the end of 2023.
