MUNCIE -- The Whiteley neighborhood got a boost this week when the state announced it will help pay to redevelop what is now Parkview Apartments public housing complex.

The city will receive $1.9 million to build 46 single-family homes where Parkview Apartments is now, according to Duane Miller, master developer for the Muncie Housing Authority's HOPE VI Program.
