SOUTH BEND — The University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College and Holy Cross College have reached a formal agreement to work together in an effort to eliminate sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence and harassment.
The presidents of the three schools have signed a memorandum of understanding on the matter, the schools announced Tuesday.
The written agreement states a commitment to a "collaborative approach in our attempt to eliminate sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and any other form of sexual harassment … in recognition of our shared Holy Cross heritage." The three adjacent colleges all were founded by Holy Cross religious communities.
The agreement went into effect Tuesday and will be eligible for renewal at the start of each academic year.
