MUNCIE -- John Walker isn't surprised to hear the number of overweight and obese Hoosiers is increasing.
In fact, he counts himself as one "the group," having watched the numbers on the scale jump 50 pounds since he graduated from high school 30 years ago.
"I wouldn't say that I'm proud of it, but I don't feel alone," he said as he sipped on large fountain pop from a gas station. "I mean, there was a time when if a kid was overweight you kind of felt bad for him. But not anymore. I just feel like everyone else."
The Global Health Institute at Ball State University recently released a report, "Burden of obesity among adults," based on a study they led using 2010 data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
