Fort Wayne still spending on lobbying despite saying no budget for 2012

Benjamin Lanka, Journal Gazette

– Apparently Fort Wayne needed lobbying help after all.

After not including state and federal lobbyists in his 2012 budget – and telling the City Council they would not be hired in an effort to cut costs – Mayor Tom Henry’s administration has spent thousands on professional lobbyists since the start of the year.

The city paid $10,002 through mid February to Bose Public Affairs Group, the Indianapolis firm that has represented the city in the state capital for years, according to the city’s online check register.
