Alcoa building $90 million plant in Lafayette, adding 75 jobs

Alcoa Inc. announced plans this morning to build a $90 million plant adjacent to its current facility in Lafayette.

Creating 75 new jobs by 2013, the factory will focus on expanding the company's aluminum lithium capacity.

Alcoa has developed new aluminum lithium alloys to supply a growing demand for the next generation of commercial airplanes.
